It’s been an eclectic week for us, with Fashionising.com’s office temporarily moved beach side in Gran Canaria. Thus as we moved from London to Spain, our musical tastes moved too. I’m not one for listening to music as I lie back on a beach towel, but when I did this week it was a case of cinematic-inspired music meeting fashion inspired music, with a lot of electronica in between.  Beauty & Grooming How to create Moschino’s wide-eyed ’60s beauty look. There’s always something about the ’60s that makes it a great source of inspiration. From the mod movement to the hippies, this decade has truly left a mark. This is probably why 1960s fashion is so huge as a trend this year, and stemming from that trend: false eye lashes. These nifty little things allow us to bring out our inner vintage vixens without going through too much trouble, as the Moschino spring 2013 beauty look proved. 1960s meets Lana Del Rey is how Tom Pecheux (for MAC Cosmetics) described the look he created for the Moschino show. To truly get the mod look, he used false eyelashes on the upper and lower lash lines over stark white eye shadow. This look is quick and easy to do and we’ve got the how-to right after the break.  Hair 5 flapper / 1920s hairstyles to try this week. No doubt you’ll be seeing Gatsby-inspired everything everywhere as the new film is released across the world, but the over-saturation of the words roaring twenties need not deter you from being inspired to get into the flapper-girl spirit. It was, after all, an era that arises time and again as inspiration whether there’s newfound cultural significance or not. We’ve already seen 1920s fashion given new twists on the runway; now here are some 1920s hairstyles to adapt as your own.  Hair How to: a slicked hairstyle for wavy hair. Different textures have different effects on certain hairstyles and for Rag+Bone’s spring / summer 2013 collection, Redken’s Creative Consultant Guido Palau took this knowledge and created a look that utilized two opposing textures. The result is a wet look in front, wavy in the back hairstyle that can be done by almost everyone – especially those who have naturally wavy hair.
